LIVING WITH A WRITTEN LIFE STRATEGY
Updated: Apr 9, 2020
Over the last 30 years in business I have had a business plan. Having a solid plan really helped me from day one. Early on, I discovered I could take the same elements of a business plan and adopt and adapt to the other areas of my life such as my health, our marriage, our children, special projects, our home, vacations, travel, etc.
I started consistently planning and establishing priorities in my life, clarified performance standards in these priorities, and wrote out specific strategies on paper (Action Plans) to achieve and accomplish these ideas. Results were clear and I had a massive positive vision for the future.
For me, the discoveries I made in my planning was literally life changing. Things that would normally require years of sweat and blood were happening in weeks and months. The more I applied these business principles to my life in general, the more the success I had in my daily living. My life was more balanced and with lots of flexibility and freedom. Going full circle, this success motivated me to apply written strategies even further into my business.
I found out it was much easier to "fail" on paper than go ahead with an idea and "burn" myself due to poor thinking and planning. Written plans and strategies were bringing balance, priority, and greater results. I am convinced that they will do the same for you.
